DeviantArt et al

As of this past week I now have a DevianArt site. Images here are available as free downloads in most cases and some are available to purchase as prints and other items.

I have also added this to my Blogroll under the a_My Sites_a heading.

My Zazzle and CafePress sites are also listed here as well as links to my FanFic profile and the Old Man Logan RPG site (which is in desperate need of update).

Remeber, you can also find me at Twitter as @ividiakt and on Facebook as Ividia Kt.

Getting in the wind…

I’ll be getting in the wind soon work wise. It should be interesting. I felt changes coming and things seem to happen in conjunction with one another. You just have to keep your eyes open for opportunity and be ready to jump. It can be a scary thing, but it is also exhilarating. I am also hoping to have a bit of time to de-stash and list things for sale as well as get some creative time in. I definitely need to reground and refocus as well as de-clutter. A summer cleaning if you will since spring is nearly spent. Be seeing you all soon.

Another update

We have been in our new place for a whole month now, and, yes, unpacking is still occurring. The absolute essentials were put out first, now the rest is a bit at time to organize and what not. Sine we are in a house now (hurray!) instead of a condo there’s actually room to truly organize, and I’m doing it a bit at a time. My office is mostly set up. There are a few boxes I still need to go through but nothing earth shatteringly urgent. The kitchen is done and the bathrooms for the most part. Still working on the master bedroom, again, nothing urgent there. With the day job I have now, my clothing needs are limited to jeans and a top appropriate to the weather.

Last weekend I bought peat pots and seeds to get a garden started. The part of the back yard I want to use still needs work, but I can at least get my seedlings going. Plus there are several pots that can be temporary quarters for the growing things. Munchkin helped me plant the seeds and is excited to see them sprouting. Those with leaves have already been transferred to small indoor containers. It is still to early to transplant outside even if the garden area was ready. We are still getting below freezing temps are night.

The new house also has several mature fruit trees in back, and we are all looking forward to the bounty. One is already in full bloom…

Other than the PBP RPGs I’m in I have not done much writing or picture taking but soon things will be in place and I’ll be back to it.

Blessed Be.

Life Update

We’ve been in a packing frenzy for the last month, and the big day is only five days away.  We found a house near (about 7 minutes) my new day job that is only a few dollars more than the condo we have been renting for the last while.  Lil man will have his own room and a yard to play in without having to worry about neighbors who do not pick up after their dogs and a cousin next door.  Mom (me) will have an actual office with an actual door (i.e. a place to hide!).  The owner is a lovely Indian man who decided to give us access early so I can drop things off before / after work this week right before the big push on Friday.

We also bargained to do the painting ourselves for cost of materials.  We did measuring this past weekend and picked the colors.  The kitchen, laundry and bathrooms will all be one color and the rest another.  Packing and moving is stressful, but we are very excited.

As for the fur babies, they are not so happy.  They do not deal well with change even though they have their own room now too.  We moved them in tonight.  One of them decided he was NOT going to leave his carrier even though he yowled most of the drive up, the big baby.  The other two were being a touch more curious.

It’s been a big year for change already.  When last Samhaim came around, I knew there were changes brewing.  I had been feeling it all year.  Then we had the  big job change when I left an employer after 15 years, now we are moving and there are more on the way.

Year of the Dragon indeed.  Or as my one screen saver says, Carpe Diem!

Vibram FiveFingers

I went out on a mission today.  To acquire a new pair of running shoes, a certain style in particular…barefoot.  I had seen them, read about them, and had a couple of friends who had them.  So it was a trek over to Sports Chalet.  After trying on a few pairs, I found three I really loved but could only justify buying one pair (Solstice, Christmas and my birthday are coming up <snicker> so I have a list ready).  I came home with a pair of Vibram FiveFingers Bikilas, in fact, I walked out of there with them on.  These are now, by far, my favorites.  I prefer to be “off-road” but had challenges with traditional running shoes because I couldn’t feel the ground properly and would trip or slip on stuff.

We went out on a little walk this evening, in the dark, down a steep trail I would even try in daylight in other running shoes. Between the traction these gave me and the ability to actually use my whole foot, I made it down with no problems and up was actually easier. I also know that my balance is much better when I can spread out my toes. I trek that would have had me aching and sore before, and I felt invigorated after. I can’t recommend these enough.

For minute details on these visit the Vibram FiveFingers website.

Oh, and I just discovered a site giving away a pair a month….http://www.myfivefingers.com/win-fivefingers/

Brew Sampler

A couple of weeks ago, after JKD class, a few of us went to a local BJs for one of the girl’s birthdays. I decided to give the dark and amber brew sampler a try. It consisted of 5 oz. glasses of the Tatonka Stout, PM Porter, Nutty Brewnett and Jeremiah Red. Of the four I discovered I liked the Red best. Considering I usually go for the darker lagers I was a bit surprised, but it will definitely get ordered again.

Here’s the brief on the Red from the BJs site:
BJ’s Jeremiah Red® – A Silver Medal winner in Strong Ales at the 1996 Great American Beer Festival. This Irish-style strong ale is brewed with a secret blend of five imported specialty malts. Not too hoppy in order to emphasize the complex malt flavor and fruity aroma.

Shodding your inner Goth

I did shoes, especially funky, clunky, outrageous shoes. And I every time I see a blip for Sinister Soles, I have to go look and drool and covet nearly everything they have.

Check them out at their or their .

Their shoes/boots are entirely too much fun.
